Zune Update Deja Vu

I have a brown zune, from back when they first came out in 06, never gave me trouble, that is, up until the V2 update. I updated the zune like I should, but then, every time proceeding the first update, after shutting the zune off and turning it on or plugging it in to charge, a message would appear on the device telling me to plug the zune in to my computer and following that screen would tell me to update my device to the newest update, which i had already done. Since then, i have had to do this after shutting off and turning on my device, or plugging it in to my pc. Has this re-occurring update issue happen to anyone else, and if so, anyone solve the deja vu?
