Canon G7 Video Uneditable?

I've tried importing the video I shot with my Canon G7 into Adobe Premiere and Windows Vista video editing tool, and the video is all black, only the audio comes in. I've tried converting the file with VLC, it said "AVI file is broken (seeking may not work correctly) do you want to repair. It could play the file when I hit yes, but the video that it exports is unplayable.

How do I use the video from my camera?
