We can only hope that other vendors will adopt this or some thing similar that would make wireless charging more popular. Right now, it is unfortunately a small niche."

Seems like a good idea doesn't it? You just put the device on top of a base of some kind and it charges, no wires. So when you travel you have to bring this base, and the power cord, with you. Perhaps the only thing you are being spared is plugging a cord into the phone to charge it. Oh well.

Perhaps in the future, hotels will have a charging pad and all you need is a device. ;)

Personally, this is great. I carry cables with me all the time, and I hate having to remember to "plug in". It would be great to put one of these at home, the office, and maybe even in the car. Then I just drop my devices and I don't have to worry. :D

About time. My toothbrush does this for crying out loud.

Great idea, but...

we won't see this unless they manage to make it so each base only works for one device. Otherwise once I have a couple of these at home and work, plus a travel version, I won't need to buy a whole new set of chargers with each phone.

Frankly having to pony up for a completely new set of chargers and cables just moving from the BlackJack to the BlackJack II was almost the final straw for me:mad:

From now on I am boycotting AT&T and SamSung accessories, no matter how badly I want them. I'll wait until the BJII connector is ripped-off by some Chinese knock-off house and deprive them of the satisfaction.:p

BTW, it would also save significant wear and tear on those fragile Samsung port covers! If I had this, I would make the effort to get bluetooth synchronization working and leave the covers alone entirely!
