Converting vinyl records to digital format

OK, I've got all the home videos transferred to DVDs, so now it's time for the next big project -- converting all our old vinyl records to digital format. Got the turntable and connection to the PC, so now I'm wondering if there is software out there which will record the output from the turntable and automatically separate into song tracks, based on the pauses between songs. I know I'll have to do the labelling, etc. but it would be nice not to have to do this extra editing.

Any suggestions?

BTW...the Nero 8 suite appears to have an audio recorder/editor, but I don't see anything in there about auto-track sensing.
