Why, it’s Mythbuntu! While it sounds like a potential next episode of Mythbusters, it is in reality the new pre-packaged, free operating system that includes MythTV for that TV viewing, recording, and time-shifting goodness that only open-source can bring you."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/cgg-myth-10312007.jpg" /><br /><br />Two key features seem to be the wider support of TV tuners and the ability to ignore the broadcast copy-protection flag. Have any of you used this? What do you think?

funny you should post...i just got done loading ubunto on my old t40. runs nice. was reading the post, it seems as if you need a capture card built in. sucks....maybe they'll have the option to support an add on soon.

Thanks for mentioning this! I was just about to install KnoppMyth, but this looks much better, since I'm already familiar with Ubuntu. The manual looks pretty impressive, too. I'll try to install this over the weekend and report back my impressions.

Well, I haven't had much time to play with it, but so far MythTV looks quite slick. If you have compatible hardware, there's no reason not to give it a try.

I have been running the predecessor to this for a year or so. I am very pleased. I have to admit that I still miss some functionality (and the selection of plug-ins) that I had in GB-PVR.
