I received an email today from my local big box electronics store, Future Shop (they're owned by Best Buy), and what did I see? A great deal on HD-DVD! (I'm feeling somewhat Dr. Seuss-ish at the moment).

That's $199 CAD (about $205 USD) for the Toshiba HD-DVD player and three free HD-DVD discs. That, my friends, is a smokin' good deal. $199 is a magic price point for any consumer electronics item, so seeing HD-DVD get here bodes well for the format. Yes, it's a sale, but sale prices are always quite indicative of future price points.
