With titles selling for as low as $19.95 each, this works out to as little as $13.30 per movie. I took advantage of it last night, and again just now, but there's no word on how long it will last. Head on over to <a href="http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=897932">AVS Forum </a>to see which HD DVD titles qualify, or hit the jump to see it here...<br /><br /><i>Update: The deal has expired.</i>

Amazon is definitely up ro something.
Check these two links:
Toshiba HD-A2 plus 3 movies = $210
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=898236
360 HD-DVD drive plus 3 movies = $179
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=898501
Add in the 5 promo movies from Toshiba or whoever and that's 8 movies free with a player. Throw in a few of the 3-for-2 combos and the fun just keeps on going cause, of course, you gotta save money regardless of the cost, right?

Yeah I just saved myself a ton of money. By blowing $80. 8O But now I'll have another 6 movies, most of which I've never seen before. I did pick up Casablanca and Phantom of the Opera, two movies I wouldn't normally watch. Supposedly the PQ in HD DVD is phenomenal, many people use them as "reference" discs to show friends how great HD is.
Mind you, I also just got 3 HD DVDs in the mail from Netflix.
Now, I almost wish I'd waited a couple weeks to get the 360 drive, as I could have gotten three more movies for free via. Amazon. Though I did get my drive for $159.99 so I guess it's a wash in the end.
So this'll be...let's see, I have to add them up now...13 movies I'll have on HD DVD. The switch is coming fast and furious for me.

Must resist....I own all the ones I would want on regular DVD already, but upgrading Batman, Serenity, and 300 is really tempting.

No link to the Blu-Ray titles?

I would but I don't know what Blu-Ray titles are being offered. AVS Forum mostly talks about the HD DVD promotion. Not biased, just don't know.

No link to the Blu-Ray titles?
The original link was to the HD-DVD software forum at AVSFORUM,.
There is a similar list at the BD software forum:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=898023
I found the original link via a reference in the XBOX forums; as a rule you don't find many BD references in 360 turf.
Too bad Amazon isn't likely to report on which format outsells the other in this deal...

Netflix says it's a dead heat. (http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Netflix/Disc_Sales/Netflix:_Demand_for_Blu-ray_and_HD_DVD_Evenly_Split,_But_Tiny/895)
Color me not surprised.

Looks like the gig is up. Of course, I only discovered this after realizing I didn't need HD copies of "Ray" and "Road Warrior", and cancelling all of my orders.
Oh well, I've got Netflix, and I'm sure prices will continue to fall.
