This design patent, apparently granted here in the United States, is described by Hop-On has being for "a MP3 phone with speakers on the side, in addition to front and side buttons to activate its camera/video features." Hop-On wasted no time in stating it would be seeking payment from those whose cell phones might fall into their patent's rangefinder."</i><br /><br />In other litigation news, Hop-On, a heretofore unknown phone developer, wants to get a leg-up in the business by suing everyone and their mother for initial investment money. :? How can you patent a phone with speakers on their side? Surely that's an 'obvious' invention that's hardly unique or novel. In any case, it will be interesting to see if their case holds any water. Only time will tell I suppose.
