If you're getting ready to buy a new television, one of the most important considerations you need to make is whether to buy a 16:9 HDTV ready television, or a more conventional 4:3 television set. The shape of 16:9 televisions help make watching DVDs and HDTV content even more enjoyable, but you will make certain compromises when watching 4:3 programming. Use this calculator before you buy your next set and make an informed decision!"</i><br /><br />Here's an interesting little app. Just punch in the monitor sizes (widescreen or standard) click the Compare Sizes button and all the specs are listed in a table. Very cool, though aside from building cardboard mockups I'm not sure what good all these numbers are. When it comes to comparing TV sizes, I suggest trekking down to your local B&M and viewing them yourself. A 30-inch widescreen TV might not look great on paper, but your eye might say otherwise.
