http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B26asyGKDo

I don't normally post on YouTube videos here, largely because I think you should be getting your laughs elsewhere ;-), but I found a video today that is an interesting intersection between digital imaging technology and the impact it has on our lives. A photographer named Noah Kalina has been taking a digital photo of himself every day since January 11th, 2000 through until July 31st, 2006 - that's 2356 days and 2356 photos. The effect is quite striking, especially when you consider how he was able to keep the same facial expression and eyes in nearly the same spot in the photos. The haunting piano by Carly Comando (reminds me of Sigur Ros) adds a nice flavour to the project. If he keeps this up (I imagine he will) after 20 years he'll have the raw materials to do some very interesting morphs. ;-)

I think once a week would have done the job. I was ready to jump out the window after 2 minutes of looking at that.

Very, very, very strange.

I'm more impressed with people who go out and try to take real pictures every day - one of my favorites is at http://www.pbase.com/shaun/everyday

I tried this once - The Falling of the Leaves (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ctmagnus/sets/72157594430797824/) - but it lasted about six weeks ;) , at which point my subject got to the point that I had decided beforehand to call it quits.

You're welcome, its a great idea too with the tree. I saw a group of photos once, it was about people with birds for pets. It showed in each frame a guy with this his bird next to him and in each shot he was getting older and older. The point I think was about the bird out living its owner which I guess they do.

Wow, those are some impressive pictures - great framing, and the post processing (or his original settings) are amazing. Very crisp and deep colours. That's what I'm still striving for...

[To be fair to the guy I linked to though, it's not like that's the only photos he ever took. ;-) He's got some decent work at his site.]

Great concept - I think if you crop tighter on the tree and get rid of the other distracting elements you'll have a great little set there.

please someone help me, I can't stop laughing.

Just realized, this topic is like a time capsule, look at all the registration dates of people who posted. :) I felt like it was 2005.
