Actually, I'm in NY this week and "decided" to go down to B&H just to browse. Somehow I ended up walking out with a 5D and a new 24-70L lens. I rationalized the 24-70 purchase by convincing myself that the 17-40 would be way to wide for the full frame sensor.

Now somehow I need to tell the wife that I bought it - I may have to wait a few years, as I'm still in trouble for buying a new car while she was out of the country!

I've decided to let my disease run its course. It is for the best. In all the confusion I did pick up a 17-40mm L and an extra battery pack and the hand strap and a 4GB Extreme IV CF card and....

The guy at the store told me he has heard a 22mp EOS is coming. Just thought I'd mention it.

Funny, I would normally sell the 5D, but I just don't want to. After all, how could I break up this pair?

Following Canon's normal 18-24 month upgrade cycle, the successor to the 1Ds Mark II should be coming soon. It wouldn't surprise me to see 22mp.
