It's a flash based MP3 player that not only plays back your music, but will display your photos and videos as well. The 8GB of storage is the largest on the market for flash based players. Its memory is expandable thanks to the MicroSD Flash memory card slot. The color screen is 1.8 inches large, and the backside is made out of alloy."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/3321-e280.jpg" /> <br /><br />SanDisk's Sansa e280 (not Sanso) is kind of old news at this point, but Digital Trends has got a very nice video tour/review of it. If you've got a couple minutes, take a look! (And no, that picture's not in the video, sorry.)

I can safely vouch for the quality of the device (the e250).
After owning (and breaking  ) 2 Nanos, an Archos 20 GB Jukebox, a 3rd Generation iPod, and having a cell phone that plays videos and music, the Sansa device is superb.
I liked it so much I gave it to my wife!
The media player was recently on sale through Amazon, and had I actually thought through the purchase, I probably would have settled on the 6GB player, rather than the 2 GB. I ended up ordering an extra 1 GB microSD card which made the price difference negligible.
We haven't had any issue with the Rhapsody service, either.
The conversion software, which takes your video and pictures and converts them to the Sansa format is drop-and-drag easy (it is produced by ArcSoft).
My wife now uses the device as her digital companion - storing and showing videos and pictures of our son (as well as playing music 8) ).
She prefers having the separation of cell phone and portable media player.

Hey, it's not like I took that picture. Too bad though.
It was really because I couldn't successfully take a screenshot of the video, so I went searching for a picture of the device. That one jumped out at me you might say.
Besides, I daresay she might have chosen the same pic.

That is some nice marketing though. Cause we all know that girls with healthy, uh, lungs, prefer guys with cool MP3s....
Seriously though, has anyone actually seen someone wearing a player around their neck? I would think it would be very inconvient.

I have seen some people on the subway with the small mp3 player necklace things. They have been Asian people, so I guess it could a cultural thing? When I was in Asia and also chinatown here, I saw a lot of people wearing their cell phones around there neck as well. Especially a couple years ago when Siemens, Philips and Sony Ericsson were bringing out all these small "cute" phones.

Yes, I have seen them, and yes, they were all Asian. For some reason the marketing over there all tells them to wear it around their neck. Our marketing tells us we need to put it in a protective case and wear it on our belt or in an arm band. They probably think we look pretty silly doing so.
I can't believe we got two pages of comments from this posting.
