<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/' target='_blank'>http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/</a><br /><br /></div>Apple quietly released version 7.0.1 of iTunes today. Checking for updates in iTunes doesn't turn up the new version, however it's available for download on Apple's website. Click the image below to go to the download page. Let's hope this fixes the laundry list of bugs in 7.0.0!<br /><br /><a href="http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/"> <img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/screenshot.jpg" /> </a>

Luckily I haven't had too much trouble with iTunes 7.0 (except for the album art problem), but I'll be eager to try this out tonight.

Installed this, and I can report one fix: 5.1 speaker systems work correctly again. (7.0, with nForce chipsets, would not -- it would only play in the front speakers, unlike previous versions.)

Interesting thread! I don't agree with all of the quirks being classified as bugs, but overall informative. The iTunes Folder Watch (http://albumbrowser.galleytech.com/iTunesFolderWatch.html) looks particularly interesting...

I screwed up all my ID3 tags with Media Monkey (luckily I had a backup) so now I'm going through each artist one by one to make sure it has the tag, and am loading the albums one by one into my iTunes music folder. But this Folder Watcher should help since I can just move the music over to the folder and they'll be loaded in iTunes automagically. :)
