The coolest new feature (in my opinion) has to be the automatic room calibration. By using a PC microphone, Vista can "listen" to each of your speakers from a particular location, and adjust the audio properties of each speaker to equalize them at that listening location. I'd only previously seen this feature in high-end Bose audio systems, and I think it's a brilliant idea. Imagine my surprise to see it built into the next version of Windows!
