Way to go Weird Al. I always liked his stuff. I'll have to pickup a copy of his latest efforts and help him get that diamond studded swimming pool. :lol:
I wonder what he could have achieved if he didn't go the parody route? Do you think he would be more or less popular?

Less... definately less. He is talent lies in comedy, NOT singing.

Less popular - we (sadly) live in a world where how you LOOK as a musician is more important than how you SOUND. He found a great niche, and obviously has the talent at what he does.

I met him briefly here on Haight Street, walking out of a used record store. While I am not a fan of his comedy or his music, I think he's just one of the coolest people ever. He's as 'real' as it gets, and I consider myself a fan (just not of his art :wink:).
Way to go, Al. :)
