For starters, it has a gorgeous interface. It’s a poster child for usability, actually beating TiVo at its own game. It’s fast. And, at least in my household, it’s been surprisingly, almost shockingly reliable. So, you can understand why I’m holding my breath when I look at the big upgrade to Media Center that’s due at the end of this year in the Home Premium and Ultimate editions of Windows Vista. Will Microsoft ruin a good thing? Will its revamped interface just add unnecessary flash and bog down performance? Will they fix the typo (Media Center techonologies?) in the copyright screen?"

I just finished going through the gallery of screenshots and the interface is indeed quite slick. And the article talks in some more detail about the slick user experience. One thing that sucks a little is the fact that it wasn't happy on a 2.8GHz machine with slightly low-end parts which means I will have to buy an expensive top of the line PC to run it.

Which you would have to do, anyway, if you want a Cablecard-equipped box. I'm already resigned to that less than enjoyable fact and hope the prices are not too outrageous...

ive been running vista beta since it was publicly relased, and i think the typo explains it all....tech 'o(h) no' logies. dont get me wrong, ill be the first in line to buy vista ultimate and I look forward to the gold release. The eye-candy is amazing.
