<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.acdsee.com/products/acdseepro/index' target='_blank'>http://www.acdsee.com/products/acdseepro/index</a><br /><br /></div>If you're not familiar with ACDSee Pro Photo Manager, it's an excellent tool for photo management, mass re-naming/re-sizing, basic editing, and a whole lot more. I've been using ACDSee products since buying ACDSee 2.4 on March 8th, 1999 - yeah, I still have the email receipt. ;-) Here's a bit about the software:<br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/acdsee8pro-main.jpg" /><br /><br /><i>"In today’s world of professional digital photography, workflow is the name of the game. That’s why we created ACDSee Pro Photo Manager: To give you unparalleled speed in every facet of your digital photography management — from photo capture to final print. View, process, edit, organize, catalog, publish, and archive your photo collections with the precision and control demanded by professional photographers around the globe. Get full RAW support and RAW processing, powerful organizing tools like customizable folders and categories, quick editing features, visual tagging and full color management support for ICC and ICM profiles to meet all of your professional needs."</i><br /><br />Now here's the contest: ACD Systems graciously provided me with two electronic copies of ACDSee Pro to give away, valued at $129 USD each, and winning a copy is easy: take a look at the <a href="http://www.acdsee.com/products/acdseepro/topfeatures">list of top features</a>, or <a href="http://www.acdsee.com/products/acdseepro/features/1">step through the tour</a>, and post a message in this discussion thread telling me which feature you think would benefit your digital photo workflow the most, and why. That's it! Two winners will be randomly selected from all entries on Thursday, June 1st at 12pm.

Just got a Canon 30D. Need ACDSEE Pro to manage, tag and edit my RAW files.

I really like the visual tagging feature. It's a very convenient and quick way to separate the good from the not so good pictures. What's more, it's useful to select files for slide shows.

For me:
1. Visual rating (tagging)
2. The customization

Definately the tagging, ratings, and categories functions.

For me... Definitely
1. Batch
2. Quick Editing

We have 3 different digitial camera users in the family, and I need something besides PaintShop Pro or Photoshop to help me edit pictures. My wife uses the Kodak system, but I don't like that for my stuff, and I tend to store images in TIFF format instead of JPEG. TIFF's don't have the compression/lossy issues that JPG's do.

As we are an all digital household, the features that would most benefit us are the ability to compare photos and to run batch operations on groups of photos.

Thanks.

I really like the tagging feature idea.

I take lots of pictures of my kids (3 of them now with my new daughter). It can be a pain trying to sort through them all.

Would have to be tagging and batch editing for me. :-)

I manage several web sites so my top feature would be the HTML album creator.

I'm beginning to swim in digital photos so I think the tagging feature would be very helpful. Also, I upload photos to my work's website, so the ability to do a mass batch conversion would make things much simpler.

Given the amount of photos that I have been accumulating, I need some way to sort out what I've got, along with tagging my favorites, and fixing things like red-eye, exposure issues, etc.

What caught my eye in the step by step features were the powerful options for batch work with photos; the multiple function batch option looks interesting, but it would probably take me a while to get the nerve up to do multiple things to numerous photos at once without worrying about messing something up.

According to the features lists, I could replace at least three applications on my desktop that I currently use for different aspects of photo management, and add several new options to boot - that alone would be great!

The Shadow/Highlight tool looks very interesting; I've never gotten good at using Photoshop Elements to do this sort of thing, so am very curious to see how this works.

I was surprised to see the full listing of features; I had only played with ACDSee several years ago, and had no idea of the powerful features they have apparently built in to this software.

I have been looking at ACDcee Pro for a few months and have to say it appears to be an excellent piece of software that I'm saving my pennies to purchase. If I could win a copy, it would be such a bonus.

I have at least 8000 photos on my computer and the visual tagging feature and batch processing would really help me out, not to mention, I would like to try out their camera raw processing. :D

I have tried the trial version of Thumbs and iview, but I believe ACDcee Pro gives you more bang for the buck.

Having the ability to catalog the 1000s of pictures after most trips is awesome. Also slight editing when necessary comes in handy.

I would either use the batch editing or the HTML album templates the most.

I need to use the duplicate remover real bad. I have so many files that have different name but are really the same thing.

I could also use something to find specific files.

It looks like a great program!

Thanks

I too have been an ACDSee user since 2.5, but the last one I purchased was 6.0......

The Visual Tagging and Batch features would be the most benficial to my workflow.

Just like everyone else, the tagging really appeals to me along with the batch editing that goes with it. I've just started going through my collection and categorizing everything in the trial version. I'm also rather drawn to the RAW and general editing features in here. If I'm going through a lot of photos quickly, this sounds faster that going into Photoshop everytime I want to process a RAW image. Also nice that it does this without modifying the file.

I was probably going to buy the standard version, but my eyes are on Pro!

Like everyone else, the tagging looks helpful; however, I was looking at the interface of the software and it blows away anything that I have been using.

I also like the ability to make executable slideshows. Just rip out an .exe to disk - give it to the grandparents - double click and go.

For me it would have to be
the tagging and HTML editing!

Definitely the batch feature. I'm always looking for programs that handle batch processing better.

By the way, I first used ACDSee way back with version 1.something when it was free.

Tagging for me. That's the key to keeping track of all these photos. This looks excellent.

I'd use it for html gallery generation and tagging of photos. My laptop is begging for a program like this!

I would use it for organization and viewing my pictures. Since I am a newbie within digital photography I can start from scratch with my categorization.

I once bought the ACDSee viewer, but lost it somewhere on the way..

Hi-

Good contest, I've wondered what the pro version is like.

I think the features I would use most are the HTML album templates and the visual tagging feature.

Why? I just made a trip and took a bunch of photos, and the visual tagging would make it much easier to go through them.

The album templates would simply make posting to the Web much easier and qicker.

Thanks again,
Danny
