How do I convert or play this?

Downloaded movie files in the following format:

I understand there are 2 xvid discs of video, each with a subtitle file.

I downloaded the xvid codecs and installed to the default install directory: C:\Program Files\XviD,
but Windows MP and other players still don't recognize the files. WMP says I need additional codecs.

I did manage to play the video with "MediaEncoder", but it doesn't seem to know what to do with the subtitle files. I need the subtitles in order to understand the movie.

Do I need to install the xvid binaries somewhere else, other than the default install directory?

XviD dlls should go to one of the system directories in Windows. My suggestion however is to get a codec pack, like the Kazaalite one.

Be sure to uninstall all codecs first.

the recommended player that supports the .srt subtitle is Media Player Classic. i'm also using this player ,it always works ok~~ hope it does the same job on ur pc~
