If you didn't read part one, we'll wait as you go catch up. Last week we talked about CableCARD, HD-DVD, and little of the history behind Media Center. This week we continue with Joe's thoughts on open vs. closed-box development, DRM, and the future of the industry."

This is the kind of stuff I live to read. I find news and product developments interesting, and reviews are always informative, but what I love are interviews like this that get readers into the minds that are guiding the entertainment industry. I really appreciated the fact that Joe Belfiore is a digital media geek like the rest of us, and is trying to create great user experiences. He's trying to open up the doors to more content without stifling the end user's ability to use it. It ain't easy, but when Vista comes out I think all that hard work will pay off.
