It plays live channels only when connected to the Car Kit or Home Kit dock; when used as a portable, it relies on songs and radio programs recorded in its 1GB of internal flash memory. It's a limitation you learn to live with. If you're a Sirius subscriber and want to tote your tunes, the S50 is the way to do it."

This product definitely is not what I would have thought it would be. I really expected a portable receiver. Still this is kind of cool in that you can choose to download individual songs to it when you hear them by just the click of a button.

Except that it's only plus, the recording, is limited to 20 2 hour blocks. To record Howard Stern would take two blocks.

Basically Sirius reinvented the iPod.
