Sharp Corp., another Japanese electronics firm, had been in the top spot in the category since the April-June quarter in 2001, when the research firm started the survey, according to DisplaySearch."</i><br /><br />The BRAVIA line of LCD TVs is apparently what pushed Sony over the top. Since buying my Samsung DLP TV a little over a year ago, I've stopped caring about big-screen TVs, though I have this feeling there may be a 65" SED TV in my future if the technology comes through as well as I think it will (and the prices are right).
