For consumers and notebook users in business, it may prove insufficiently little in size and priced too big. But for performance-hungry professionals, it has plenty to offer in its compact, industrial-looking casing."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/lacie_lbd_1.jpg" /><br /><br />I agree, performance-wise, this is pretty cool looking, but for the price I'd think they could put some larger drives in here. Being that this device contains 2 drives, 200 GB is really pretty anemic.

The reason that the device only has 200 GB across two drives is that it is using 2.5" laptop drives - they currently don't come much bigger than 120GB, although I believe Seagate is shipping a 160GB drive, although it is only a 5400 rpm drive. So it kinda comes down to being a very small Raid 0 external drive with two zippy 100GB drives........I will agree that I don't really see the point. Buy an external hard drive enclosure, stick in a 3.5" 400GB drive, and I suspect the weight will be about the same, although the dimensions will probably be a bit bigger.
