http://reviews.designtechnica.com/review3386.html

"The 2405FPW marks Dell’s entry into the 24-in. LCD category. The significance of this display is beyond simply expanding the product line. The only other 21-in.+ options on the market by a large manufacturer, as of this writing, are Apple and HP. Apple offers both 23-in. and 30-in. and HP’s L2335 uses the same LCD display panel as the 23-inch Apple Cinema Display, developed by Lg- Philips and won our Editor’s Choice Award last year... The Dell 2405FPW offers an extra inch, better all-around specs, and a significantly lower price (especially when bundled with a system), compared to the Apple and HP equivalent. To anyone on a budget, the decision is a no-brainer."

I am so happy that Dell has produced this because this was probably the only way the monitors in this size were ever going to become affordable. I am just a little miffed that it isn't available in a higher resolution. While 1920x1200 is great, I would love to see something closer to those 3820x2400 monitors from IBM and Viewsonic. :)

I have the 20" WS that runs 1680x1050. My 17" WS notebook is also 1680x1050. For many people, that is too small (at least on the 17"). I suspect 1920 is just right for the 24" display. Personally, squeezing 3820x2400 on anything smaller then a 30" screen is just too small for most people (if used as a computer monitor).
