The answer is simple: it allows for batch audio transcoding from a variety of files, including WMA Lossless, which is important for anyone that wants to rip in WMA Lossless yet still be able to mass-transcode to MP3 or a lower bit rate WMA. File formats supported include MP3, WAV, OGG, and WMA.

Jason,
Is this something that you use? Have you experienced any trouble transfering the ripped music over to your pc?

No, I haven't tried it myself. Are you having trouble with it? I can probably get a review copy and check it out if you're having problems.

Count me in as one of the curious. I recently completed ripping my entire CD collection to WMA Lossless, which seemed a good idea at the time, but have some concerns about the staying power of the format. For that matter, I have no idea which other format may have a stronger future either, so programs like this hold a certain appeal.
Before I shelled out the money for this app, though, I would need to see some reviews about its operation, as well as conduct a search on SourceForge or elsewhere to see if freeware/shareware projects also existed. (must be my Scottish background....)

I got a review copy and installed it.
First, it pops up an error message about not finding a CD/DVD, which is silly since I wanted to use it to convert some local files.
I selected a folder of MP3 files, selected 64 kbps WMA as the output, set the location of the output to a local folder on my desktop, then clicked RIP NOW - and it crashed on mfc71u.dll.
I've tried the same procedure three times, same crash every time. I've also tried wish a different folder of MP3s, a different WMA bit rate, and a different output location. Same crash each time.
So either my laptop is buggered up (possible) or the program itself is flimsy (possible). I'll let you know what I discover as I test it more.
