SanDisk is beating everyone to market with the first and only (for now) 6GB Flash-based media player. This little baby features a 1.8-inch color screen, user-replacable rechargeable battery, Micro SD slot, slide-show functionality, an FM tuner with FM recording, a universal-connector slot, and WMA support (Plays For Sure.) The backside is made of Titanium, which makes the device less scratch-prone, unlike a certain popular white media player. <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/images/smiles/worried.gif" />

Okay, tease me already! First Creative's latest Zen, and now this! I am not a fan of iTunes, and have all of my music ripped to WMA Lossless, so I have been looking for a solid WMA player with the features that I want. This is looking very nice - given my lifestyle, a solid-state unit would suit me better than a hard drive-based unit.

However.......I read the review, which really didn't provide much information. I had to wonder if the reviewer had actually even seen the unit in the flesh, let alone held and used it. Other than gushing about the features, there was precious little solid information.

For example, I searched the review and related articles, as well as going directly to Sandisk's site and searching there, and still cannot find any information regarding the supported image and video formats, or details on the FM radio feature. I even went to Sandisk's FAQ's, to no avail! I wish that when they release these units, that the marketing types could get their act together and provide us with more details.

I keep thinking about buying a dedicated MP3 player/video player, but can never seem to come up with just the right combination. Under the circumstances, I have to wonder why I don't just go and buy a couple 2GB cards, and let my PPC take care of these chores....oh yeah, battery life..... :D

Yeah, it was very light on info, makes me think he got five minutes of hands-on time with it, but no real testing. That article was more like a "sneak peak".

I have been looking at this device since it was announced at CES. I was just about set to buy the 4 gig Sandisk m200 player to replace my aging Rio, until I saw this.

I have been jealous of the apple Nano, wondering when one of the play-for-sure manufactures would come out with a large memory flash device. It ended up being Sandisk...twice.

Now I just have to wait until March to be listening to my Napster to go content while running...well maybe I'll wait for a review or two to roll in.

You'll have to wait till the end of March according to SanDisk:
