I have a Samsung YH-999 Portable Media Center.
Does anyone know where I can find some good hacks for this unit? Maybe something for upgrading the harddrive.
I am looking for something interesting to do.
Any suggestions.

I haven't heard of any hacks for any PMCs...I think it's because they're closed, appliance-like devices.

Hmm... I wouldn't say you couldn't hack them.
I own the Samsung PMC YH-999. I've been looking into how you could hack it. Based on my findings, you can change what it says for "My tv, my music, my pictures, my videos, and settings." It's all in the firmware. If you go to samsung's website and download the firmware update, you get an exectuable file, 3 .bin files and some font files. Using a hex editor you can edit the OS Image (NK.bin). The problem is that when you save it and try to flash in onto your PMC, you get an error that says "The file-transfer has failed." The program that flashes it knows that it is not the correct file. So a solution to this would be to reverse-engineer the executable file. So, yes you can hack it. It's just a matter of finding out how to do it.
