Downloads accounted for $1.1 billion in sales during the year, up from $380 million the year previous. Users downloaded 420 million tracks during the year, which was twenty times larger than 2004. The IFPI also counted more than 2 million legal tracks on the net, double the number that was available last year. Additionally, digital music now accounts for six percent of total music sales, indicating more consumers are opting for the increased portability of the medium."</i><br /><br />Just goes to show that if given the option, lots of people will do the right thing.
