Drivers will be able to listen to their iPod through the car’s audio system, select their music by artist, album or playlist with radio or steering wheel controls and view selections on the radio’s display. “Customers have been asking for iPod connectivity and we’re excited to make it available to so many of our vehicles in 2006,” said Randy Ewers, director, Mopar Accessories Portfolio Team. “We’re providing the largest number and range of automobiles with iPod support of any automaker, allowing Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge owners to bring and listen to their entire music collections.”

Apple continues establishing partnerships with automakers to integrate its popular digital audio player with in-car entertainment systems. The question is...will this drive you to buy Chrylser?

No, but definitely the other way around. If a car I purchased had built in support for an Ipod, I would probably finally trade in my iRiver and get an iPod.

It won't make me buy a Chrysler, but it would definitely be a nice feature, hopefully Subaru is next on Apple's radar. :)

I wouldn;t buy a car because of it, however, if the car I wanted to purchase had the option, I would get it.

Why carry any of my CD's when they are all my 60GB Ipod.

As a sidenote, an increasing number of new car models have XM radio support built-in as well, like the new Chevy HHR. It's nice to see automakers embrace digital media content.
