The prototype, which will be on display at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from Thursday, appears to put Matsu****a slightly ahead of South Korea's Samsung Electronics in an ongoing battle for bragging rights over who can develop the biggest flat TV."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/2006_01_05t090938_450x328_us_japan_matsu****a.jpg" /> <br /><br />Hmmm...that would be roughly four times the size of my 65" set. It should cover most of the wall and would allow for picture-in-picture-in-picture-in-picture. :D Seriously though, no word on whether this would be available in the near future and if so, what the cost would be. But, given that Samsung's 80" plasma goes for $130,000, I don't think I'll be putting one in my shopping cart any time soon.

Actually, 103" is roughly 65% larger than 65". ;)

Yeah, my brain was being partially dyslexic. Even though it said 103, I saw 130, which is exactly 4x the size.

But, we are both wrong. If I still remember my geometry, a 103" diagonal TV is approximately 89.77 x 50.49 inches, for a surface area of 4532 sq inches. A 65" set is approximately 56.65 x 31.86 inches, for a surface area of 1804 sq inches. So the 103 is 2.51x the size of a 65". :D

Whoops, I was calculating straight diagonal measurements. I forgot to take area into account.
