The miniature TV tuner, small enough to carry on a keyring, can receive analogue and digital terrestrial TV (Freeview), and is ideal for notebook PC owners on the move."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/hauppauge_wintv_hvr_900.jpg" /> <br /><br />Very sweet. I'll be on the lookout for a US version of this.

Requirements

...
Television licence
...

I thought that the TVs themselves had to be licensed in the UK, not so much the item receiving or displaying the signal. This gives a new twist to that concept.

Anyways, this would be cool to have.

You only need a license if you own equipment that's capable of receiving a TV signal, to the limit of one license per household (unless you can prove you don't use it). Hence this still needs a license for legal use.

Hmm. Wonder what the legal situation is with this as I'm away from home at University. In the UK, a portable television running on batteries is covered under a home TV license. So, surely this plugged into a laptop fulfills this requirement?

Don't fancy being the High Court test case, though! ;)
