Guys ... and gals,

I'm looking to replace a my aging 10GB iPod with something else. I don't really feel like purchasing another iPod. My music is MP3 so the field is wide open. I need this information so I can tell my girlfriend what I want for Christmas. (She wants the iPod Nano herself)

I'm looking for the most bang for my buck and I think that I've narrowed it down to the iRiver H10 or the Cowan iAudio X5. The Creative Zen Microphoto is on my list, but its only 8GB.

I've been reading reviews and user reviews and its all making me dizzy.
USB Mounting is prefered. Good sound quality. Color screen.

Basically the more features the better.

thanks

I've toyed with the iRiver H10 and read about the X5, but having owned neither, I'm afraid I don't have any input to give you beyond suggesting you read a few online reviews of each one.

Thanks for the reply Jason...

What are you using right now, and what are your thoughts?

I'm using a Zen Micro right now, one I was given last year. I like it quite a bit, but it's also the first hard drive-based MP3 player I've owned so I don't have a lot of experience in terms of what's out there.

Here's my updated internal conflict.

Cowan iAudio X5 (http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/iaudio/x5/)

Storm Blue A9 (http://www.stormblue.biz/eng/sub/products/products.asp?CG_MID_CODE=mid20051012193217)

iRiver H10 20GB (http://www.iriveramerica.com/prod/hd/h10_20gb.aspx)

Samsung YH-J70SB (http://product.samsung.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_product_detail.jsp?eUser=&prod_id=YH-J70SB%2fXAA)

This one's a bit small for my needs, but it looks cool.

Tough call - they all look sweet. If it were me...I'd get the X5. :D

Thats probably the way I'm leaning. Its just one of those things where the more I looked and investigated, the more DAPs I came across.

The only thing that is a bit disappointing is the lack of ID3 tag browsing.

But I could probably live without it. Its hard because I'm actually coming from owning an iPod 3rd gen 10GB.
