And Roxio hasn't made the experience complicated, either. The new Media Creator Home, the central hub for navigating to any of the suite's 25 applications, allows you to launch specialised features or complete common tasks in just a few mouse clicks. The new Task Assistants also lead you quickly and intuitively through the creation of personalised projects. More logical in design and layout, Media Creator Home provides immediate access to all the applications, features and capabilities of the suite. Media Creator Home is divided into project categories under which are descriptions of the tasks that you can accomplish in each. In addition, common features are now embedded to allow you to complete popular tasks in fewer mouse clicks and without needing to launch a full application - a feature we criticized in Easy Media Creator 7.5."

I'm waiting for my copy of Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 to show up (hopefully today), but BIOS Magazine has already published their review of it! I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this software, because it looks like a big improvement over 7.5 (which I was still getting used to). The DVD Music Disc sounds excellent, and the MusicID feature is something I've been waiting forever for: it analyzes an audio file, creates an "acoustic fingerprint", the compares that against an online database and gets all the correct ID3 tag information. Sweet! VideoWave wasn't my favourite app to use, but it now supports HD video - while Adobe's Premiere Elements 2.0 still doesn't. Check out the BIOS Magazine review if you're interested in reading more about this application.

And here's a little spoiler: we have a contest coming up where we'll be giving away five copies of this program. Stay tuned!
