Hi guys... just wanted to let you know that after months of scratching my way through inconsistent readability of DVDs (would work on some machines, but not on others) -- changing media, changing software, changing process (using a DVR instead of the computer), I think I may have found the problem.
It was the DVD burner on my computer!
I originally had a 'generic' HI-VAL drive which I got from Tiger Direct. I recently switched to a Plextor PX-716A and all my problems went away. Now, all DVDs I burn are readable on all my machines! I guess it was some alignment or 'reflectivity' issue with the HI-VAL drive.
BTW, if anyone wants a cheap, DVD/CD 4x burner, let me know :D
