Cutting out the middle step of transferring ripped tracks from the computer to the device is an important shortcut. Any one-button rip functionality brings MP3 portability a lot closer to a lot of people."

I can honestly say I thought of this already. I've been telling friends for over a year about my idea for an iPod dock with a built-in cd drive that would rip CDs directly to your iPod, skipping your computer entirely. Track info could be downloaded via CDDB automatically, and it would be a 1-touch rip process. Apparently Toshiba thought it was a good idea too. I think a lot of DAP buyers underestimate just how long it takes to rip a CD collection, and get discouraged once they find out. I know I did.
