"Together with the RIAA and MPAA, the Internet2 community is leading the way in helping to shape new business models for the future of the music and movie industries as consumers and businesses alike continue to rapidly adopt Internet technologies to receive these products and services," Douglas Van Houweling, president and CEO of Internet2, said in a statement. The Internet2 community boasts advanced Internet technologies, which the MPAA and RIAA said they hope to utilize for studying and creating advanced DRM (digital rights management) and content distribution technologies, according to a recent news release."</i><br /><br />I just finished reading the press release and it is incredibly vague, as no specifics of the collaboration are given. However, everyone can notice that the words "DRM" and "protected" are used ubiquitously. You can sense the fear vibrating through every utternace. Well, anyways, we will see how this works out in the near future.
