First was the announcement of the Yahoo! Publisher Network and today comes word of the beta launch of Yahoo! Audio Search. Audio Search, the Internet portal explained, is built upon Yahoo! Search technology. It allows users to search over 50 million audio files across a wide array of major music services and independent publishers. These audio files include, but are not limited to, podcasts, music downloads, albums and spoken word such as newscasts, speeches, and interviews. Audio Search has also been integrated with other Yahoo! Search features, such as video and image search, to provide a more comprehensive audio searching experience. Independent publishers can also submit their audio to the search index via RSS."</i><br /><br />Looks like a really cool service. The only question I have for Yahoo! is whether they will be able to help me when I get a tune stuck in my head and I don't know what it is. :) Anyways, 50 million seems like a very nice anthology. I wonder if they will ultimately be teaming up with Real or Apple or will it stay integrated with Yahoo! Music.

Yahoo! or Google need to introduce "Sounds like this" searches for music. Enter "Dum dum dum dum duuh dum dum dum duuh dum..." and it returns "I love Rock &amp; Roll by Joan Jett"... Ah, that would be nice...
