That's quite a bargain considering I just bought a 20" Apple Cinema display for $750. I haven't seen one of these displays up close, but I think Jason purchased a couple for himself a while back. Perhaps he can fill us in on whether or not this model is worth its weight in plastic. Dell has long been known for it's good deals in LCDs. Back in 2002 I purchased an 18" UltraSharp for just $449, which was an incredible deal back in those days.

I'm rather tempted to get one for myself to go along with my PC, but I think the PC needs upgraded before the monitor. A circa 2001 1.7GHZ P4 system just ain't the shizel anymore. I'll probably hold out for Intel-based PowerMacs that can dual boot Windows XP and OSX, sharing the same lovely Cinema display.

If you go to Yahoo and type in dell coupons, try the first two options. In one of them you'll see a coupon which will bring the price down to 525$. Good hunting.

IMHO, the best Dell deals are readily available through www.gotapex.com - if you check them out daily, you'll typically see lots of great Dell deals that are time and/or volume limited. The great Dell 50% off new laptop promotions that run regularly are often posted here a day in advance, so that you can have your unit loaded and sitting in your cart ahead of time! ;)
For example, right now, Gotapex is showing this monitor as available for $464.40 with the right combination of coupons.....

You bet, the 20.1" LCDs are VERY nice monitors, and at that price they're a steal.

I've got one of these monitors and, especially considering this price, it is about the best LCD deal on the market.

Wow! Thanks for the tip. I just purchased one for myself. Can't pass up a bargain like this. How much did I pay for that Cinema display again? http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/eusa_wall.gif

You'd think that with Dell's buying power, they'd be able to overcome the typical £=$ conversion rate but, no, we're getting stung for £520 .
Not only that, but US discount codes don't work and I don't think I've ever seen UK discount codes for Dell.
Humph!

D'oh! Wish I had read that 3 hours ago. I JUST bought one off ebay for $480 (after shipping) and I thought it was a steal. I wonder what Dell's charging for shipping? Oh well, live and learn.

Nope, shipping is free. The Small Biz division did charge me sales tax, which brought the price up to $476...but I'm not complaining! :rock on dude!:

Not sure if you knew this... but ready for some more salt in the wound?

As unique as Apple's Cinema display might be in the world of 19" to 21" flat panel displays, it shares the same LG.Philips panel as the Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW. There happens to be only a single panel manufacturer capable/willing to mass produce wide screen, high resolution flat panel displays for the PC market.

You just had to drive that knife in, didn't you! :P
Ok, since you guys are so good at finding Dell coupons and whatnot; can anyone tell me if there are any special deals or coupon codes I can apply towards the Axim X50v, via the Small Biz site? Dell is offering it right now for $399, and I would love to knock that price down some more.

I am really enjoying my X50v. A good choice all round, especially with your free WM5 upgrade.

Well if I can get an X50v for less than $399 I may join you. Otherwise I'll just wait for prices to come down. I just spent $550 on a Treo 650!

Just wondering if any has purchased or looked at the Syntax Olevia 27" HDTV/Monitor for $699 AFR at CompUSA (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=329059&pfp=hpf6)?
http://image.compusa.com/prodimages/58/d7383509-566f-4299-b3b5-189a61dc394d.gif
Features:
16:9 Widescreen Aspect Ratio
HD Ready
750:1 Contrast Ratio
DVI with HDCP Compatibility
10w X 2 Detachable Speakers
12ms Response Time
Dual NTSC tuners
Ability to display split-screens or up to 12 windows displayed concurrently for multiple channel scanning
This seems like a pretty good deal. There is also a 32" selling at Target for $1199.99. These look to be very good entry level HDTV/Computer monitors.
