The card is a regular 32-bit PCI card that features four standard DIMM slots on board."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/GigabyteSolidstateRAM.jpg" /><br /><br />A very interesting idea coming from Gigabyte that we might be seeing more of in the near future. The storage lifetime is somewhat short at only 16 hours from powering off your computer and I would like to have more storage time before buying anything like this. ;)

Don't be a ninny and store your apps there! Use it as a scratch disk! Solves the problem if your version of Photoshop can't address more than 1gb of RAM. :D

This is pretty cool - I keep hoping we'll see more RAMdisk development. I don't really care too much about how long it lasts - it should be used as a scratch disk, or an application could copy files into RAM and copy them back out upon shutdown. More speed is what I want! :D

What I would like to see is for someone to installs Windows on that since it literally act as a SATA HDD that can be accessed at POST. Would it make the PC practically instant on like a PDA. How about a PC that has four of these installed in all the PCI slots (4 slots * 4 DIMM * 2GB per DIMM = 32 GB HD)?
