The investment cost of the factory--to be built at an existing Toshiba site in western Japan, in Himeji--will be split evenly between the two companies. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, and the factory will start producing 15,000 50-inch panels per month in January 2007, according to Hiroko Mochida, a spokeswoman for Toshiba."</i><br /><br />If the price point is right, this might be a winner - images as bright as a CRT, 1/3rd less power than a plasma, and no delay like you get with slow LCD TVs. Might be a winner - it would be very curious to see the word Canon on my TV set though...

I absolutely hate being a TV buyer at the moment. Sure, there are nice flat panels at the moment, but all the best stuff is just around the corner.
