200 Free Music Downloads at Amazon

And it's not music from completely obscure artists either: Moby, Aimee Mann, Beck, The Strokes, Alison Krauss, and more. Bit rate varies - I've seen 192 kbps and 128 kbps so far. I think they underestimated the popularity of this: it took almost 60 seconds for the download to start. Once it started, however, I was downloading at 400 KB/s. Grab 'em while you can!

It's hit and miss. Some of the songs I downloaded turned out to be the 30 second sample, while other downloads just flat out failed to launch. :?

All in all, I can't complain. I've been able to grab a couple tracks, and I'll try to get some more. Thanks Amazon!

Well that's odd - I've so far grabbed tracks 1 to 16 and all have been full songs...?

I'm not sure where I was in the list. It happened with "The Way You Look Tonight". I thought the download was really fast, so I went to look at the file, and it was only 335kb. And when opened, it's only 30 seconds in lenght. :(

Scratch that - track 21 is a 30 second sample...

I tried a day or two ago; out of >20 tracks I tried, only one downloaded successfully, and it was a 30-second thingy. All the rest resulted in a "we're sorry, but the track you selected can't be found" error.

Is it me or are there a lot more than 200 on offer?

If you click on Browse Digital Music, it seems you can access many more tracks other than the Top 200.

They are *all* displaying as 30 second samples for me at the moment.....

I have the link to the download page for the whole track, then I have the link to the 30 sec sample below that. You're not clicking on that one, are you?
