Stretch your imagination and let the ideas flow with new Photoshop CS2...Simplify file handling with Adobe Bridge, the next-generation File Browser, where you can process multiple camera raw images at once; resize, rate, and label thumbnails; quickly review images in Slideshow mode; search metadata; and more."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/Bridge.jpg" /><br /><br />Looks like the 800 pound gorilla of the image editing world has put on a few extra pounds - Photoshop CS2 boasts some impressive features. I shudder to think of how bloated and slow it is though - I'm using Photoshop Elements 3.0 now and I can catch a quick nap while it's loading. Adobe doesn't have a good grasp on making their applications fast. <a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/main.html">Creative Suite 2</a> was also updated as well with new versions of several applications. If you're a Photoshop fan, this is a big day!

Well Acrobat 7 is much faster than Acrobat 4,5,6 were.
And Photoshop isn't that bad. Ever open Illustrator? Its the way they load those plugins. What a pain in the rear.

True, I'll grant you that - 7 is pretty fast, even when you cut the resource parasite out of the startup folder.

How many time do we view PDFs in a day? More than any of us would like to count. :x

I wonder if the new file browser will be any good. I hate the old file browser with a passion!

I watched a demo of it. It's really quite impressive, and I may just ditch Picasa if I end up upgrading to CS2.

If I'm not mistaken, they're different. Adobe Bridge (the name of CS2's new file browser) is one step up from what was offered in previous versions of Photoshop, and Photoshop Elements for that matter.

The only reason it appears faster is that it puts an Adober Quickstart in your startup folder!

Neat. The background RAW processing sounds like a great time saver!

Nah, even when I remove that (and I did) version 7 is still quite a bit faster than version 6.

Even Version 5 was much faster than 6 I was among the many that downgraded due to significant speed drop, but 7 is much better than both.
I got to see a preview seminar a while ago Adobe CS1 and was impressed with the new feature sets and now wish I had the time to learn everthing in CS2. I think I will just purchase Bert Monroy's latest book, that man is the Bob Ross of Adobe products.
I have been also playing with paint.net( http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/ ) for the tablet very impressive...I really like the semi-transparent toolboxes that let you see your image even when using their growing toolset. Some even manipulated the source to run in 64bit...definitely worth checking out.
