Sources close to HipSolve Media say a deal could be announced as early as next month, although it's unknown whether the firm is leaning towards joining Apple or another suitor."

This is certainly a bizarre arrangement. What would Apple want with a company that provides a solution which essentially competes with iTunes? Not to mention the impact it would have on relations with major record labels who currently parter with Apple. Or is Apple pulling a Microsoft; buying up a competitor just to put them out of business?
