Any thoughts on a new DVD Camcorder????

I am discussing the idea of buying a new DVD Camcorder, and using my MiniDV Sony Camcorder for outside in the woods and dirt recording!!

I have been looking at the Hitachi brands, and like what I see so far, but have just begun to look, so I have not really researched the idea very much yet.

Anybody have any ideas or thoughts on what to look for?

Anything to stay away from?

Do all of these play back directly on a standard DVD player?

Try the sony dvd-205. It has a 1mp CCD and it´s a very good camera. And yes, discs are playable on any standard dvd player.
