Building on the success of that, and the subsequent D60 and 10D, the new EOS 20D has been designed with both serious amateur and professional photographers in mind. The 20D offers a significant number of improvements over its predecessors. These include Canon’s new DIGIC II imaging processor, a new Hi-Precision 9-point AF system, an impressive 5fps shooting speed, and a fast start-up time of 0.2 secs."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/jd05-3157full.jpg" /><br /><br />I had a chance to play with a 20D a couple of months ago, and man, it was a serious camera. The metal body gave it some good heft - it felt very professional - and the shutter lag was almost nil. If you're looking for a professional camera, this one should be on your short list.

Just ordered mine last week. Can't wait for UPS to get here! It really is a nice piece of work--especially for the comariative price.

I just love my 20D. I have moved from the D60 to 10D and now to the 20D (I also love ebay). Each version has been a great improvement over the previous one. The 10D added the metal frame and improved colors. The 20D has added more pixels, better AF, quicker start time, and quicker shutter speed. The improvements in speed are amazing.

If you are looking for a camera that you can use for a long time, look no further.

I also have to add my endorsement of this camera. I have had mine for about 6 months now, and am absolutely amazed but the pictures this camera is able to take.

Digital still isn't a replacement for film, but it is becoming more and more rare that I get out my 35mm camera since I got the 10D and now the 20D.

I'll chime in and say that I'm still using mine after 6 months and it's great!

Impressive performance and great detail in crops. Image quality even in neutral, produces sharper pictures then I normally see from Canon digicams.
