Anyone have experience w/the Sanyo Xacti C4 VPC-C4 or similar?
I am really interested in getting a new video camera and these mini flash based cameras seem to be a cool choice for the ocassional home movie as well as a bit of an upgrade to my Nikon Coolpix 3MP still camera, in one tiny package. Also, if I buy ine from Hong Kong or UK, are there any formatting differences I should be aware of for this format/device? (PAL/NTSC)

Does anyone agree/disagree or have an alternatives?

I'm always highly doubtful of how well these devices work as video cameras - have you seen a video sample? All the samples I've seen from devices like this really suck in terms of quality...

Well, I already bought it. I'll give a quick review when I get it this week and post some samples.

Here is a quick clip I found at xacti.co.uk of the camera in action (outdoors). I'll post more when it arrives.

agreed. He's really proud of his roof I guess.

I was looking for MP4 options.
I found this free decoder for Windows Media Player

That lets you play MP4 files in WMP. (You could also use Quicktime, but I'd rather not)

Can you suggest a MP4 editing program?

HURRAY! It arrived today. I'm charging the camera now and I left my 1GB SD card at the office but I'll post some video & pics tomorrow.

Here are the specs for those who aren't familiar with it already:

Quick notes...
1) When the camera is in the charger, it can act as a webcam. (should be able to work...not sure if this is true).
2) Audio prompts
3) SMALL SMALL SMALL and well made
4) Nice case
5) Smooth Zoom
6) lots of settings
7) 4MP camera and fake out 8MP
