This slick pvp is very small and light-weight and still features a 3.5 inch color screen. It can also directly record video and has a TV out. The battery live is 5 hours for video and 10 hours for audio playback. USB 2.0 interface is available for data transfer. Erae does not have a product page up yet for the FOCE F3-3510."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/erae_foce_pmp_F3-3510.jpg" /><br /><br />I think this is one of the few units that truly looks portable and pocketable. Does anyone have any experience with the company Erae?

5GB? Huh? I wonder how much... vs. Samsung's YH-999 Plays For Sure PMC

uhhhh, I think we are talking size here. The YH-999 is over two times the size. Oh course why consumers would want these when you can do the same things and more on a small iPaq at half the price is beyond me. I would be amazed to see these fly. Last time I looked a company that introduced a $99 handheld video player at the last PCExpo (2003) had only shipped a couple of thousand units after a year on the market. I wonder how many of Microsoft's PMCs have shipped since November at $500? Asian manufacturers keep releasing players (they were all over CES) but consumers just don't seem be be interested...

Sorry but no. Product size is moot (see below) unless you are a drawf.

Both products have LCDs at 3.5".

Samsung YH-999 PMC: 3.8"(W) x 4.2"(H) x .83"(D)

ERAE FOCE F1-2210 PVP: 4.0"(W) X 2.3"(H) X .71"(D) ,--this has yet to even hit distribution.

Looks like the extra 2" on the Samsung is for the speaker. The player also has a kick-stand.

I am asking about price as it relates to capacity (5GB vs. 20GB), content, availability and DRM. I doubt any major retailers will pick that up. I saw the Samsung, Creative Zen and iRiver PMC/PMPs at BB, CC, Tweeter, Amazon, J&amp;R and I am sure many of the the mom and pop shops.

Also, NPD put total sales of PMCs (not including PMPs) at about 30K since Oct., not including in-channel inventory. I thiks this is a first good attempt into this category. Prices will drop and the products will better. It's all about convergence.

Yo yo yo Dr Doom don't you be dissin my dwarfs bitch! As far as portability, I like to carry my PMPs in my breast pockets. I have other equipment up top so I favor pocket portable devices. No way I would bother with a Samsung YH-999 PMC so size is not moot. In fact few media players can compete with a cheap PPC dig? So get with it and don't be so quick on the draw. God forbid the wicked witch ever throws a dwarf spell on your candy butt!

" In fact few media players can compete with a cheap PPC dig?"

Can you back that up? I saw no pricing.

Again, let's not get off topic. As I asked in the very beginning in my original line of questioning in comparison to a PMC, WHAT IS THE PRICE? Do you know?

And both will fit in your breast pocket along with your pencil protector.
