Need suggestions on a good lens for wedding photography. I have a Tamron 28-200 lens on my Canon 10D, but, it seem to be a bit slow and doesn't seem to focus accurately. I would like a Canon lens that would cover all angles necessary for the purpose intended. I have a Canon 17-35mm lens, but, that won't due for genera purpose wedding photos.

1 lens? A bit hard if you ask me. Back in film we'd use 2-3 lenses with a 28-70/2.8 as the main lens. The crop on the APS sensors kinda changes that, but a 17-35/2.8 with a 28-70/2.8 or a similar combination is what most will use. I feel the 17-35 is quite usable as the main lens. Maybe a third longer telephoto depending on how one works.

Also I'm not sure what your income from doing this is like. If it's sufficent (with the necessary NPV and depreciation calculations), you might want to invest in a second body as well.

Our wedding business is still in start-up mode but we use 18-70mm, 50mm f1.8 and 85mm f1.4 lenses most of the time.

I don't think you really need anything longer than 85mm for weddings - I have a 70-300 zoom, but have never taken it from my bag. It's good to have pretty fast lenses since many churches don't allow flash photography. F1.8 or 1.4 is the only way to go.

The lens I'll buy next is going to be wider, maybe 12mm or so. Before I get a new lens I'm buying a good flash bracket, another must have for those reception pictures.

I agree, while I am not a wedding photographer, I have seen some very nice "artsy" shots done with fisheye lens. Once you have your “working” lenses, I would consider the new 10mm from Canon.
