<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.soundpix.com/products/plus.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.soundpix.com/products/plus.htm</a><br /><br /></div><i>"Imagine hearing the wedding march as you view a photo of your daughter walking down the aisle on her wedding day, or your grandchild's first words along with the image of her beaming face, or the story that goes with that great Hawaiian beach shot from your favorite vacation... Or documenting that business photo with a detailed explanation in your own voice… With SoundPix Plus, a new and powerful audio capture and editing software tool available from SoundPix, you can easily enrich your digital photos with sound - adding an entirely new and pleasurable sensory dimension to the image creation, editing and sharing experience."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/soundpix.jpg" /><br /><br />Basically this sounds like Microsoft PhotoStory. It compiles images and makes them into audio enabled slideshows, or individual musical pics. Runs on both Mac and PC by the way. Enjoy.

This is pretty neat but I wish there was a good way to record decent audio. I have a mini-cassette recorder but the sound is poor - it picks up too much sound like when I move my finger. I tried a digital recorder and maybe I just have a crappy one but the sound is tinny and digital sounding (and not in a good way). The $10 mic I have for my pc must be used up close and is too sensitive for capturing things like spontaneous laughter.

Anyone have a suggestion for a moderately priced audio capture device that captures in decent quality for under $100? I guess I need a mic? What kind of mic, since there are so many types and styles to choose from? I'm not looking for studio quality or anything. I think adding audio to pictures would make a nice addition to a family cd or dvd to hand out occassionally.
