One-upping most smaller Media Center PCs is the ability to upgrade the graphics card (although most larger boxes can do this just fine), meaning this slim little media crate could probably output World of Warcraft to your 102-inch plasma of the future just fine."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/shuttle_mediacenter.jpg" /><br /><br />It looks a heck of a lot like a VCR, but it would integrate nicely into a home theatre system with a slim, horizontal design. Go Shuttle!

The real beauty here is that it runs on Intel's Sonoma platform for Pentium M CPUs, so its bound to be quiet and have good thermal management. This is the best HTPC setup I have seen yet, based on the platform alone. P4 does not belong on a home theater rack IMO...

Excellent point - I didn't notice that. :D

Very nice looking. I wonder how you upgrade the graphics card though. I don't see any slots on the back, and it doesn't look like it will be tall enough to fit a full size card. Maybe I'm just missing it.

With the advent of a cable card slot in PC's, it makes me wonder where the alternative is for Satellite providers. I've always thought it odd that their aren't any PCI cards that can be plugged into a Computer and used with the Sat Co's Access Card. Afterall, the setup boxes we see are really just slimmed/stripped down computers anyway?

Something like this could get me to switch back to cable from DirectTV, but it still doesn't make sense that the Sat Co's are sitting on the sideline for this type of technology.

It will just mount horizontally rather than vertically I believe.

Based on the photo of the back, I think this is a correct assumption. They will mount on the side so they are horizontal across the back where you would expect them to be vertical with the unit in that position. Since this is a Pentium M board and their own design, Shuttle can do anything they want since they are not held to an ATX/Micro-ATX design etc.
