That, apparently, is the promise behind the "Ripper" from Estone. I seem to recall sony had a $1000 in-dash HD based mp3 player that ripped, and for good reason. It was the only way you could get your music onto the HD. It also has a memory stick slot, but you couldnt transfer music to and from the HD. It didn't sell well I imagin. :wink:
